Flashback…
Grandy Mandy helped us get our gardens established. She taught us the importance of compost. It does make a garden grow! Here are a few shots from back in early August. Will loves to water the garden.
Here are the pumpkins just after they sprouted. We started them from seed.
The garden along the fence (behind Will in the above three pictures) has herbs, lettuce, radishes, peas and green beans. We’ve enjoyed our green beans tremendously!
Look What We “Growed”
I looked out of our kitchen window at lunch time and spotted something amazing…
Can you see it yet?
At first, I thought David put it there as a joke. I can’t believe we grew a pumpkin this big!!! But sure enough, it was attached to the vine! I felt it pop off when I gave it a tug. Jack was so excited! (I feel bad leaving Will out – he was there, but he didn’t seem as thrilled as Jack and I were…)
Jack explained to our neighbor that “the rain growed it.” We took it to our front porch and attempted a cute photo. Jack’s showing me his teeth after I asked them to smile.
Here are a few other shots of future pumpkins… hopefully!! Did you know the pumpkin comes from the flower? Neither did we! Come pick a pumpkin from our patch! We’d love to see you!
